Welcome

“When the other person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self-worth, uncertain as to identity, then understanding is called for. The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance… provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another.” Carl Rogers
There is no arguing that life can be challenging. All of us face difficulties at times, and it is precisely through confronting and overcoming them that we grow into our full potential as human beings. You do not have to do it alone. If you are wondering whether it would be a good idea to speak to a psychologist, ask yourself the following questions:
  1. Are you feeling sad, anxious or angry a lot of the time?
  2. Do you feel that you are running into the same problems again and again?
  3. Are you finding it difficult to control yourself (emotions, behaviours, thoughts)?
  4. Do you feel that your work or home life is suffering?
  5. Do you no longer enjoy things that once gave you pleasure?
  6. Do you find yourself drinking, overeating or taking drugs to feel better?
  7. Do you find it difficult to sleep or switch off?
  8. Are you feeling unwell even though your doctor tells you your health is fine?
  9. Are you having difficulties in your relationships and feel stuck?
  10. Are you feeling unsupported and alone?
If you have answered YES to one question or more, you may benefit from talking to a psychologist who will listen, help you explore your feelings and give you the tools for addressing the issues you have.

APPROACH
I specialise in stress, anxiety, depression and perinatal (pre- and postnatal) depression. If you would like to try a non-pharmacological approach to these issues, do get in touch with me. There are many effective, scientifically validated interventions (such as cognitive behavioural therapy) that work really well for mood problems. Do feel free to contact me to find out more.

I also work with couples with relationship difficulties. Whether you come for an individual or a couple consultation, in our work together I will guide you towards:
  • transforming unhelpful behaviours, thoughts and emotions through understanding them
  • seeing clearly by holding a mirror to what you are and what you have
  • finding the resources and solutions within you
  • finding meaning to things that happen in your life
  • simplifying your life and letting go of what does not serve you
  • focusing on being present in the here-and-now
  • being content with what you are and what you have
  • finding purpose and motivation
  • embarking on the path of self-discovery and personal growth.

CONSULTATIONS
It often takes time to build a therapeutic relationship and to see results. Unless agreed otherwise, our work together is open-ended, with a minimum of two sessions’ notice for the ending period to conclude our journey together, when you feel ready to strike out by yourself again.

*You can check my online calendar and book your next consultation directly on this website (Contact and Book)*.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or require more information.
